CAR CARE SEMINARS

Want to learn more about vehicles in a fun, hands-on class designed for beginners? Join us for Cars 101! These informative, laid-back seminars are led by an ASE-certified technician, and cover basic vehicle care and checks that should be performed by every driver. They are held the second Saturday of the month, from April through October. There is no cost to attend but space is limited, so participants must RSVP to reserve their spot. Questions are welcomed and encouraged!

 

So what will we go over in Cars 101? Topics covered include (but are not limited to):
 

Getting Started
 

  • Indicator lights and their meaning

  • Basic parts and their functions

  • Comparisons of old and new parts

  • Opening the hood

The Engine Compartment

  • Engine compartment safety

  • Checking and adding fluids

  • Checking the air filter

  • Checking battery terminals

  • Checking serpentine/drive belts

  • Checking and changing a fuse

 

Exterior and Undercarriage

  • Changing wiper blades

  • Checking tire pressure and condition

  • Checking tread depth

  • How brakes work

  • What's underneath a vehicle

  • Why maintenance is important

  • How often vehicles need service

  • Choosing a shop

 

Questions are encouraged throughout the seminar, but there will also be time set aside at the end for you to ask any additional questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you!
